Il mio resoconto della convention di sabato 13/01/07 a Burbank

La mia avventura in Xena inizia sabato. Erano all’incirca le 10.30 del mattino, stavo seguendo la fila per la foto con Renèe. Camminavo e guardavo le persone che mi circondavano. Conoscevano il mio nome e si complimentavano con me per il mio nuovo costume di Xena con l’armatura di Todd. Ho posato per Pix. Jamesmaster e il suo gruppo Xenaversity sono venuti a salutarmi. Mi ha presentato alla sua famiglia, suo figlio era in gara per i costumi con il gruppo Trivia. Ho incontrato un sacco di persone con le quali sono andata alla convention.

Non c’era una fila per comprare i biglietti, mi hanno messo un bracciale nero sul polso, non un vero biglietto. Entrai e trovai posto vicino all’attaccapanni e vi appesi il mio cappotto.

Camminavo vicino alla zona del rivenditore ed entrai nell’area pix. Poi rimasi in piedi dietro la fila per firmare la lavagna e aspettavo che arrivasse il resto delle compagnia. Mentre stavo li ad attenderli presi con me il pix e vidi che era divertente.

Il primo ospite fu l’attore che interpretava Draco. E’ venuto e ha cantato una canzone poi ha scherzato con il pubblico, rispondendo alle domande. Ci ha detto che odiava il suo copricapo quando interpretava Draco, era scomodo e lo trovava fastidioso. E’ stato divertente, prima non l’avevo mai visto.

Poi abbiamo visto Brittany Powell che interpretava il ruolo della valchiria Brunhilde. Come si può vedere, è una persona molto dolce. Ha venduto il suo reggiseno all’asta e l’acquirente aveva la possibilità di prenderlo sganciandoglielo dietro le quinte.

Alla fine della giornata c’era Michael Hurst che interpretava Iolao, il compagno d’avventure di Hercules, e sua moglie Jennifer Ward Lealand, che interpretava Boadicea in Xena. Sono sposati ed è stato molto carino ascoltare le loro avventure in Nuova Zelanda.

Steven Sears uno degli scrittori della serie ed eccellente fotografo, mi ha preso molto in considerazione, elogiando la mia nuova armatura. Quel giorno ha messo all’asta un video montaggio di foto di Lucy e Renèe.

I video di Wendy Woody erano molto divertenti. C’era una ragazza col costume di Callisto che intervistava le persone alla fiera, chiedendo dove poter trovare Xena, un misto di scene divertenti.

La gara dei costumi è stata molto divertente. Ho incontrato una ragazza col costume di Gabby che gareggiava. Jo Marriot, un eccellente sosia di Xena, ha vinto la gara, il suo gruppo l’aiutata molto nell’impresa. Indossava il costume da guerriera di Xena. La seconda classificata era la versione demone di Xena e la terza rappresentava Lao Ma.

Le vincitrici per il miglior talento sono state 2 ragazze (della Germania) che hanno combattuto sullo stage.

Mi sono divertita molto alla convention!

My Xena con report on saturday

My Xena adventure began on saturday. I got there about 10:30am, saw a line of people for the photo-op for Renee. I walked around and saw a few people who recognized me. They knew my name and complimented me on my xena costume with the new armor from Todd. I posed with them for pix. Jamesmaster and his xenaversity group came up to say hi. He introduced me to his family, his son was in the trivia group and costume contest. I met a lot of the people from myspace so that was worth going to the con.

No line to buy the ticket for the con, they just put a plastic band on my wrist, no real ticket. I went in and got my seat first near the back and saved it with my coat.
I walked around the dealer's room and took pix of the area. Then I stood next to the signing board and waited for the myspace people to arrive. While standing there several people took pix with me so that was fun.

The first guest was the actor who played Draco. He came out and sang a song then he joked with the audience, answered several questions. He told us that he hated his headpiece he wore as Draco, it was pin and glued on top of his head and looked like road kill, lol. He was hilarious, first time I've seen him.

We then saw Brittany Powell. She played the valkyrie Brunhilda. She was a lovely person as well. She auctioned her bra and the winner get to unhook the bra behind the stage, wow.

Then the finale for that day was Michael Hurst who played Iolaus, sidekick of Hercules and his wife Jennifer Ward Lealand, who played Boadicea on Xena. They are married and it was nice to hear about their adventures in New Zealand.

Steven Sears a writer from the show and an excellent photographer, took several pix of me, he liked my new armor. He had his Lucy and Renee montage pictures auctioned that day.

Wendy Woody's video was very funny. It was a girl in a Callisto costume interviewing people at the ren faire, asking where she can find xena, mixed with gallactica scene.

The costume contest was fun. I met a girl in a gabby costume and we teamed up for the contest. Jo Marriot, a very good xena lookalike, won of course, her groupie gave the loudest cheer for her. She was in the evil xena costume. Second was the demon xena and third was the Lao Ma costume.

The winner of the talent contest was 2 girls (from Germany )fighting on the stage by then I had to leave, my hubby came to pick me up.

I had a nice time at the con.
